Automatic Field Update

Automatic Field Update allows you to update a specific field in the Lead Box whenever a defined condition is met.

For example:
When the Lead Stage changes to Prospect, the system can automatically update another field such as Testing to a predefined value like “A”.

This automation is configured using the Journey module.

Example Use Case

  • Condition: Lead Stage = Prospect
  • Action: Update the Testing field to value “A”
  • Trigger: Immediately after lead update

To Create a Journey for Automatic Field Update, Follow These Steps:

Step 1: Create a New Journey

  1. Click the Menu.
  2. Select Journey.
  3. Click New Journey.
  4. Enter the Journey Name.
    • Example: Update Field Testing
  5. Enter a Journey Description (optional).
  6. Select the End Date.
  7. Click Next.

Step 2: Configure Application and Trigger Condition

  1. Select the Application as Lead.
  2. Select the Event as Lead Update.
  3. Set the condition:
    • Field: Lead Stage
    • Operator: Equals
    • Value: Prospect
  4. Click Next

This ensures the journey triggers whenever a lead is updated and the Lead Stage becomes Prospect.

Step 3: Configure the Automatic Field Update Action

  1. Set the Engagement Trigger as Immediately.
  2. Select the Engagement Type as Lead Update.
  3. Once selected, an additional field configuration section appears.
  4. Choose the field to update:
    • Field Name: Testing
    • Value: A
  5. Click Save.

Step 4: Activate the Journey

  1. Click Go.
  2. Confirm activation.

The Journey is now active.

How to Verify That the Field Update Is Working

Step 1: Update a Lead

  1. Go to the Lead Box.
  2. Open an existing lead.
  3. Change the Lead Stage to Prospect.
  4. Click Update.

Step 2: Check Activity Log

  1. Reopen the same lead.
  2. Navigate to the Activity section.
  3. You will see an entry indicating that the Journey was triggered.

Step 3: Confirm Field Update

  1. Review the Testing field.
  2. The value should now be automatically updated to A.

How the Automation Works

  • When a lead is updated
  • And the Lead Stage equals Prospect
  • The Journey triggers immediately
  • The specified field is updated automatically
  • The action is recorded in the Activity Log
